LEEB Flexibles is a modern company in Allgäu, southern Germany, that specialises in the production of versatile packaging materials with flexo printing. The production process, which consists of multiple steps including printing, laminating and cutting rolls to the customer's desired length and width, requires considerable physical and manual effort, especially when cutting rolls. The finished material is rolled up and then stacked on pallets manually or with a crane.

 

In order to improve ergonomics for operators and make the process more efficient, we decided to introduce a DOTEC roll handling system. This system makes it possible to effortlessly lift rolls of up to 150 kg without the much effort for the operator. The acceptance of the employees for the new roll handling system was very positive and very high from the start. This is mainly due to the light and intuitive operation and guidance of the rolls, as well as the considerable physical strain on the employees, especially with rolls weighing 25 to 50 kg. In addition, the introduction of the DOTEC system made it possible to expand the range of applications of the slitters, as it can now also handle jobs with heavier and unwieldy rolls without any problems.

 

From the beginning, the cooperation and coordination with the company DOTEC was pleasant and productive. After the initial contact, DOTEC employees quickly arrived on site to discuss the details of the system. During the planning phase, our requirements were carefully considered and questions and adjustments were processed quickly. The installation of the system was quick and hassle-free.
